A Worker’s Kid

I realized why I take so many pictures of kids. It’s not because they are cute, though they are of course, like everywhere in the world. It’s because they ARE everywhere. Not just in playgrounds, kindergarten and schools. Not just closely watched by their parents, but like free range 😉

They sit at the counter at night in the bar, they make their homework next to you in the restaurant or while their dad is cutting steal beams or gutting broken tractor tires. I saw kids being brestfead on the back of driving tricycles with mom sitting next to farm instruments.

Out of necessity or custom kids here much more often take part in the work life of their parents or grandparents than in Germany or Romania.

And the old peekaboo game, that’s universal language ?
