Friday afternoon, half of Henan province is putting their cards on the table. People are so immersed in their games they don’t even want to take selfies with us. They play in front of shops, houses, on the boardwalk. In this village we take a beer break from the muddy road and after checking us up everybody immersed in the cards again.
One guy points at me and while the others are abstracted he hides some cards in his jacket. In the shop a woman slumps on the floor because someone pulled the chair from under her as she leaned over the gambling table. The place bursts out in laughter. Ganbei!
